Recently, SPECU's hyperspectral application module development and testing center project was officially signed and established in Taihu New City, Wuzhong District, Suzhou. The move marks a key step in the company's effort to industrialize its core hyperspectral technology and adds strong momentum to the region's upgrade of its high-end intelligent sensing industry.
Agreement signed: government and enterprises join forces to support regional industrial upgrading

On May 26, SPECU's project to build a hyperspectral application module development and testing center was officially signed and established in Taihu New City, Wuzhong District, Suzhou. The local government attached great importance to the signing ceremony. Wan Li, secretary of the Wuzhong District Party Committee, and Li Zhen, deputy district mayor, attended and witnessed the project's launch.
At the ceremony, SPECU Chairman Yang Meihui and CEO Xu Haitong gave district leaders a comprehensive report on the company's self-developed core hyperspectral technology system, the mature industrialized application of its nut inspection technology, and the construction plan, technology R&D directions, and industrial chain layout and development plan for its new Suzhou base. The district leaders fully recognized the project's technical strengths, industrialization capabilities, and dual value to industry and people's livelihoods. In light of the regional industrial layout, they gave specific guidance on the project's next-phase construction, technological innovation, and coordinated development across the industrial chain. As the first company in China to achieve large-scale mass production and implementation of hyperspectral technology in the food industry, SPECU fills a core gap in the region's high-end intelligent sensor industrial chain and injects strong momentum for scientific and technological innovation into the iterative upgrading of the region's intelligent inspection industry and the cultivation of new quality productive forces.
Choosing Wuzhong to cultivate fertile ground for high-quality development

Choosing to put down roots in Wuzhong Taihu New City was a precise strategic decision by SPECU, grounded in industrial layout, technology development, and scenario iteration—and, more than that, a two-way fit and mutual empowerment between the company's technological strengths and the region's industrial advantages.
Wuzhong District in Suzhou has long pursued an innovation-driven development strategy and focused on building a “3+2+N” cluster of key industries. Across the district, there is a strong culture of scientific and technological innovation, abundant industrial momentum, and enormous development potential. The district not only offers a first-class business environment, a well-developed industrial support system, and a rich pool of high-end talent, but also has extensive real-world application scenarios in areas such as food testing, ecological and environmental governance, and forest fire prevention.
The wide range of deployment scenarios provides an excellent testing and implementation platform for continuously iterating our hyperspectral technology and broadening its applications, and is fertile ground for the company's industrialization.
SPECU's core team has spent more than a decade in hyperspectral imaging and has deep vertical R&D expertise. Founded in the UK in 2021, the company achieved a from-zero-to-one breakthrough in applying its core technology in its first year after returning to China, fully demonstrating the commercial and scalable value of hyperspectral technology. Leveraging Wuzhong's strong innovation ecosystem and broad market space, we will deepen our presence here, advance technology scale-up, project implementation, and business expansion, and lay a solid foundation for high-quality growth.
Two-way empowerment to activate new industrial momentum

The implementation of this project is an important result of complementary strengths and mutual benefit between government and business, and it is a milestone for both regional development and corporate growth.
For Wuzhong's regional development, SPECU's globally leading hyperspectral technology and mature capabilities for industrial-scale production and deployment can effectively fill the region's gap in the high-end intelligent inspection sector, grow its new quality productive forces industrial cluster, drive deep integration of frontier science and technology innovation with local use cases across multiple sectors, and continuously strengthen the core competitiveness of Wuzhong District's intelligent inspection industry. Going forward, Wuzhong District will also rely on the "Three Services" special initiative to provide targeted support for enterprise development through policy support, talent recruitment and development, and supporting services.
For SPECU, we will draw on Wuzhong's well-developed science and innovation resources, high-quality industrial ecosystem, and deep pool of top-tier talent to accelerate the scale-up and deployment of our existing technologies. We will continue to attract outstanding science and innovation talent from home and abroad, keep iterating and upgrading our core technologies, expand our business footprint, and work to secure a leading position in the global hyperspectral technology frontier, driving leapfrog growth and high-quality development for the company.
Join forces for the long term to shape the future of the sci-tech innovation industry
The launch of this hyperspectral project is a pragmatic step by SPECU in actively responding to the national development strategies for scientific and technological innovation and new quality productive forces. It is also an important practice for Wuzhong in government-enterprise collaborative innovation and concerted efforts to upgrade industries.
In the future, SPECU will be based in Wuzhong Taihu New City, where it will draw on the area's complete industrial support, diverse application scenarios, and full-cycle government services to continue advancing hyperspectral technology R&D and industrial application. The company will accelerate technology iteration, expand application scenarios, and scale up its footprint to achieve leapfrog upgrades. This two-way partnership between government and enterprise, with complementary strengths, will both improve the quality and efficiency of regional industry and help the company grow rapidly.
